I’m a 30-something year old, stubborn and hot-headed Italian. I’m confident and passionate about life, and keeping true to myself. I’d be lying to myself if I wrote that I don't give much thought to yesterday, and I don't worry about tomorrow – but I do…, to some extent. For those of you in my life, you’re there for a reason! I value my friendships and most importantly, my family. For those who have turned out to be less than a friend – I have learned and grown stronger from knowing you!!!

SIN CITY

Goldie.... She Smells Like Angels Oughta Smell...

It's a stunning explosion of black and white with splashes of red. But it's not the blood - although there is some blood that is red - but the odd red dress and the sinful red lipstick! The imagery is a balance of the shady characters, the betrayals, the violence (and there's a lot of it here) and the chance for redemption - whether it be by love or other means.

The film, set in a place called Basin City (and shot in black and white) tells three interconnected stories. The first one involves an ex-con with a disfigured face named Marv (played by Mickey Rourke - incredible face) whom after a night with a beautiful hooker named Goldie (image above by a great artist), wakes up next to her dead body. With the law and just about everyone after him, Marv goes out to avenge her death. The second one involves another criminal named Dwight (Clive Owen) and his battle with a corrupt cop named Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro) and that battle leads to a tense situation between the leader of the city's hookers and the police. The third story involves an aging cop named Hartigan (Bruce Willis) and his battle to protect a young girl named Nancy from a pedophile named Junior, who's father happens to be a powerful politician played by Powers Booth, who has a monologue in this film that's filled with so much truth about Americans in general. It's a perfect example as to why George W. Bush sadly got re-elected again. Oh well....

This movie is a must see….several times! The only excuse is a weak stomach, but if you love action and violence, you'll love this movie. The violence, in a way is done beautifully. You see the reason behind the characters' actions. They aren't just killing for no reason, and that's what takes this movie and makes it better than any other typical action movie.
